Velafrica relies on a dedicated and diverse network of partners. On the one hand, this consists of collection, processing and logistics partners in Switzerland. On the other hand, Velafrica receives financial support from various companies through corporate partnerships.
Discover partnership opportunities and become part of the network.
Become a collection partner
Would you like to accept bicycles donated to Velafrica? Become one of over 300 official collection points! Suitable collection points include recycling/disposal centres, bike shops, railway stations or individuals.
Here’s how it works:
- Get in touch with us: velosammlung@velafrica.ch
- We’all add your collection point to our online collection point finder: www.velafrica.ch/en/your-support/bicycle-donation/
- Bicycle donors report their donation to us in advance and then drop off the bicycle at your collection point.
- You decide for yourself the maximum number of bicycles you can store and inform us when a collection is required.
- A partner organisation from the Velafrica network will pick up the bikes as soon as possible.
Of course, we would also be delighted if you organised a one-off collection event.
Become an insurance partner
It’s part of everyday business for insurance companies: a stolen bicycle that has already been compensated for is recovered, or a bicycle damaged in an accident can no longer be repaired. Are you an insurance company looking to do something good with your salvage bicycles? Give them a second life in Africa. Velafrica offers a hassle-free collection service and has extensive experience working with insurance companies.
Become a partner as a property manager, housing co-operative or homeowner
Is your bike storage or bike parking overcrowded? Organise a bicycle clearance with Velafrica. Benefit from our professional service at a fair price. Velafrica has over 30 years’ experience working with property managers and co-operatives across Switzerland.
Become a processing partner
Velafrica is looking for social enterprises that, as part of their work and integration programmes, repair bicycles or produce spare parts and prepare them for transport to Africa. Become part of our network of over 30 partner organisations working in the fields of work integration, correctional services and support for people with disabilities.
What you’ll need:
- a fully equipped bicycle workshop
- storage space for the bicycles
- ideally, a vehicle for transporting bicycles
- a member of staff who is passionate about bicycles or trained in bicycle mechanics
- an interest in a long-term partnership
Become a logistics partner
The donated bikes for Velafrica are transported from the collection points to the processing partners and, from there, are sent to the partner organisations in Africa in shipping containers. Velafrica is looking for logistics partners to handle domestic transport.
Become a corporate partner
As a company, you can also support Velafrica by organising a team event at a bicycle workshop, setting up a charity run or entering into a bespoke project partnership.
