For bike processing, Velafrica can depend upon many reliable partners. Throughout Switzerland, a number of social enterprises and institutions for the enforcement of measures help bring donated bicycles from collection points to the workshop where they are repaired in accordance with Velafrica’s quality standards.
To ensure safe transportation in the shipping container, the front wheel, pedals, and saddle are removed from every bike. Specialised partner companies dismantle bicycles that are in poor condition into spare parts, ready for shipping. These spare parts are essential so that bikes can be repaired in Africa and remain in use for as long as possible.
