Participate
Good recycled bicycles from Switzerland continue to be in high demand. You can donate your bicycle by dropping it off at approximately 300 collection points in Switzerland. Simply enter your location or postcode here and identify the one nearest to you. Bicycles can be handed in free of charge at all collection points and luggage counters. Velafrica pays the transport costs via SBB.
Please note that no bicycle donations can be accepted at SBB luggage counters during the months of February, July und August due to peak travel periods.
Mountain bikes are particularly popular because the roads in destination countries are often unpaved. However, we accept all types of bikes and are able to reuse every bike in good condition. Bikes that are in poor condition or defective are dismantled and individual components are used as spare parts.
We also accept e-bikes. If the e-bikes are complete (battery, charger and key) we check the option of exporting them to our partners. Incomplete or defect e-bikes are processed into valuable spare parts.
We do not collect scooters, kickboards, bike trailers, balance bikes, tricycles and accessories such as bicycle seats.
Pick-up service
Larger quantities of bicycles can be picked up by us or our partners. Please note that this service might bear a charge. The contact list including information on the costs can be found here.

Bicycle collections
Approximately 100 bicycle collections take place every year. They are organised by a range of organisations, including schools, companies, associations, communities and individuals. The current dates can be found in the section Current bicycle collections of our website.
