Promoting bicycle mobility
Today is World Bicycle Day! For more than 200 years, bicycles have simplified the lives of people around the world. That’s why the UN has designated 3 June as International World Bicycle Day. Velafrica has been doing what the UN celebrates once a year every day since 1993: We promote velomobility in Africa with bicycles from Switzerland.
An impressive example from South Africa
The Deutsche Welle recently visited our partner in South Africa, the Sweetdale Skills Center, and reported on the «Bike to School» and training programmes there. An impressive report (in German) on the advantages and opportunities offered by the recycled bicycles from Switzerland.
