Every year, Velafrica exports over 20’000 bicycles to seven countries. Approximately 80% of the bikes go to bicycle hubs in Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Madagascar and South Africa.<\/strong> Alongside the bikes, we also export thousands of spare parts. Demand is highest for inner tubes, wheels and chains. The hubs in Burkina Faso and Tanzania were established with long-term local partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Four small businesses in Ghana, Gambia and Ivory Coast receive the remaining 20% of the bicyles. These bike shops and their workshops are long-term partners of Velafrica.<\/strong> In these locations as well, jobs are created in the shops, workshops and administration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The demand for bicycles from our existing partners is much greater than the quantity we can supply.
